top-news

Hillside Charitable Foundation was established to touch lives through impactful initiatives to uplift the living standard of its target communities. These include communities and families facing economic challenges across  Nigeria especially orphans,

single mothers, youth and other less privileged segments of the population.

The decision to set up the agency started with meetings from January to May, 2023, and it was fully established by August of the same year. Precisely on the 29th of August, the foundation successfully completed its

registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (C.A.C), resulting in the issuance of the Registration Certificate under the name ‘Hillside Charitable

Foundation’ with registration number 7116274.

At present, the Foundation operates from its permanent office

at No. 5 Musa Musawa Road, Gidan Dawa, Katsina, Katsina State. Since it’s establishment, the Foundation has carried out several interventions particularly in education and healthcare.

Under the Healthcare component, the foundation launched its inaugural project, the Health

Support sector on November 16, 2023, which was a collaborative initiative with the Katsina State

Branch of the Health Workers Association, and the Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria (IMAN).

This concerted effort started with Jikamshi town where a medical outreach was carried out to support residents with various ailments.

The success of its strategic approach was underscored by meticulous planning and the involvement of skilled professionals, comprising doctors, pharmacists, nurses, lab technicians, pediatricians, ophthalmologists, dentists, gynecologists, and other specialists and healthcare personnel, totaling

sixty individuals by providing free treatment for those diagnosed.

Following the outreach, the foundation also conducted an assessment of Jikamshi’s hospital to identify areas that need attention.

This was in order to prepare the ground for further assistance and support to less privileged persons seeking healthcare services in the town.

In the education sector, the foundation targwts children from less privileged families particularly orphans. In its first project, the foundation identified 176 orphans in Jikamshi town, the orphans were given scholarship in a large ceremony attended by key stakeholders from the town.

The foundation also identified orphans enrolled in both primary and secondary schools within the study area and gave them essential educational materials such as books, school uniforms, and stationery. Building on the triumph of our initial efforts, we dispatched a subsequent round of support where 132 more orphans benefitted.

In total, 308 orphans in Jikamshi have so far received educational support from the foundation, while more of such support is being planned for more communities.

Hillside Charitable Foundation was founded and sponsored by Hillside Roya Suites and the chairman of the foundation is Alhaji Maiwada Danmalan (Ma’ajin Galadiman Katsina) and Director General Media to Katsina State Governor.
